Ambassador Yamakura and Librarians at the Sandy Hunter Library
On April 14th, Ambassador Yamakura attended the handover ceremony of 165 books under the READ JAPAN PROJECT at the Sandy Hunter Library, Orange Walk Town. This project is organized by the Japan Foundation and donate books on various topics related to Japan that are selected from a list and thereafter distributed to libraries around the world for the purpose of understanding Japan and expanding their library collection.
Ambassador mentioned that he would be hopeful that the donated books would foster a greater understanding of Japan and its culture among Belizean people. Ms. Shamira Carrillo, Senior Library Assistant, expressed her gratitude for the contribution of books, which would give opportunities to explore Japanese rich history, tradition and expand the perspective fostering greater understanding and global awareness.
