Japanese Government is Offering Scholarships for Research (Graduate Studies) to Belizeans for the Academic Year 2022

2022 MEXT Scholarships for Belize

The Embassy of Japan is pleased to announce that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan continues to offer the Research (Graduate Studies) to Belizeans commencing in the academic year April 2022 or September/October 2022.

Research (Graduate) Students

This scholarship is open to university graduates from Belize, and covers a one year and half – two year period of graduate research at Japanese universities. The study area must be in the same field as the applicant studied or is now studying, or a related field. Recipients may enter Master's or Ph.D. program after passing the entrance examination given by the university concerned. The scholarship includes a half-year of Japanese language training for those who need Japanese language training. Applicants must be less than 35 years of age (born on or after April 2, 1987).

【for Belizean Applicants】
Deadline for submission of application and supporting documents is 31st May 2021.
Please bring the completed set of application to the Embassy of Japan in Belize (1:00pm-4:00pm, Mon-Fri) by hand or send by registered delivery service.

As a part of First Screening, written examination of language proficiency and interview for shortlisted candidates will be conducted in June.
