Ambassador Iryu paid a courtesy call on Mayor of Belmopan City

On 4 May, at the invitation of Belmopan City Council, Ambassador of Japan Iryu Kazuhiro visited the City Hall of Belmopan, paying a courtesy call on Mayor Ms. Sheran Sharon Palacio, the newly elected mayor in the March municipal elections. Mayor Palacio gave welcome words, and also expressed her hope that the dispatch of the JOCV volunteers by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) would restart soon. The dispatch has been suspended due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the occasion, Ambassador Iryu handed Japanese information magazines “niponica” to Mayor Palacio with remarks of thanks.
