Unveiling Ceremony of the Climate Change Mural

On May 21, Ambassador Shirakata attended the unveiling ceremony of a mural on the theme of overcoming climate change at Eden Seventh-day Adventist High School in the town of San Ignacio/Santa Elena. Ms.Yuki Yokoyama, a member of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) working at the town council, conducted environmental education classes and workshops at the high school for about a year and a half with the aim of fostering environmental conservation leaders. As a result, students, faculty, staff, and a local artist worked together with Ms.Yuki (front row, right in photo) to create this piece of art.
