On August 21, Ambassador Shirakata and Consul Kobayashi visited the Immigration and Customs Office in Santa Elena Village, Corozal District. At the Immigration Office, they inquired about the procedures for reviewing and managing the residency status of cross-border travelers. At the Customs Office, they learned about the collection of duties and taxes, customs clearance procedures, and efforts to combat smuggling.
