On August 27th, Ambassador Shirakawa and Yumiko Shinya, First Secretary, attended a handover ceremony for an ambulance fully equipped with emergency medical equipment to the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk Town. This donation was provided under “The Project for the Provision of Ambulance for the Northern Regional Hospital in Orange Walk Town” at a cost of two hundred and seven thousand seven hundred Belize dollars (BZ$207,700/US$103,850), funded by Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Project, which aims to boost the delivery of quality healthcare and emergency response services to all Belizeans. The Southern and Western Regional Hospitals have also added to their ambulance fleet under this project.
