Introduction to Japanese Culture Seminar at the National Heritage Library in Belmopan

On November 21st, the Embassy of Japan held an Introduction to Japanese Culture Seminar at the National Heritage Library in Belmopan, which was attended by 23students from Belmopan Comprehensive High School.
The seminar saw Ambassador Shirakata engaged with students on various topics from the Geography of Japan to Career and Employment Paths for Japanese High School and University Students, Ninjas as a Career Destination, What Happened to the Samurai Afterwards?, Anime and much more.
Activities such as Calligraphy, Syougi (board game), Origami (paper folding) were also featured. Students got to experience writing hiragana, katakana and kanji with the calligraphy brushes as well as making paper cranes with origami, while other students played Syougi and found similarities compared it to Chess.
